Download the MySAPS App
The MySAPS app is the official mobile app of the South African Police Service. It's free on Android and iPhone, and it's genuinely useful — but there's one thing you need to know first.
Important: the app is NOT for job applications
SAPS job applications are web-only. You apply for the 2026/2027 police trainee intake (TRA26/27) exclusively through the e-recruitment portal at erecruitment.saps.gov.za — not through any app. Our step-by-step application guide walks you through the real process.
So what is the MySAPS app for? It lets you:
- report crimes and incidents to SAPS
- find your nearest police station with contact details
- access SAPS safety tips and official alerts
- reach emergency services quickly
Think of it as a services-and-safety app, not a careers app. If anyone tells you to "apply through the app" or charges you for an "app application form," that's a scam — the patterns are documented in our SAPS application scams guide.
Official download links
Only download MySAPS from the official app stores. Fake "SAPS app" downloads on random websites are a known scam vector.
- Android: Google Play — search "MySAPS" or use the official listing
- iPhone: App Store — search "MySAPS" or use the official listing
Check the developer name before installing: the genuine app is published by SAPS's official publisher. If the listing looks off — wrong developer, few downloads, recent upload date — don't install it.
Staying safe
- Never download a "SAPS application app" from WhatsApp links, Facebook posts, or third-party APK sites
- The real MySAPS app is free — any paid "SAPS app" is fake
- The app will never ask for your e-recruitment portal password
