Community discussions

This site runs community discussion and report pages where SAPS applicants share experiences: portal problems, document questions, shortlist timelines, and scam alerts. If your question is about the application process, posting there usually gets you a faster and more useful answer than writing to us directly, because other applicants have likely hit the same issue.

Look for the discussion or community section in the site navigation and join in. Be kind, be honest, and never share your ID number, banking details, or portal password in a public discussion.

Corrections and feedback

Spotted an error in one of our guides? Dates changed, a requirement updated, a broken link? Tell us through the community pages or the site's feedback channel and we'll fix it. Accurate information is the whole point of this site, so corrections are always welcome.

What we can't help with

Please understand our limits — we're an independent information site, not SAPS:

• We can't check your application status or shortlist position
• We can't accept applications or documents on SAPS's behalf
• We can't speed up, influence, or appeal any SAPS decision
• We don't offer paid "application assistance" — and neither should anyone else; the SAPS application is free

For anything about your individual application, log in to the SAPS e-recruitment portal at erecruitment.saps.gov.za or contact SAPS through their official channels at saps.gov.za.

A note on scams
